SSNIT hotels saga: PK Sarpong Jabs Okudzeto-Ablakwa

Unbeknownst to many Ghanaians who have become the target of Samuel Okudzeto-Ablakwa’s continuous attacks on SSNIT and Bryan Acheampong, his claim that Labadi Beach Hotel has been making huge profits is untrue.

For the 15 years that Labadi Beach Hotel has been in operation, the entity has paid a paltry GHC48 million dividends to SSNIT. Yes! GHC48 million in all the fifteen years of its operations for SSNIT.

SSNIT is practically making nothing for pensioners whose monies are injected into these hotels since the returns on equity have been nonexistent.

Another point Ablakwa is spewing out there is that Bryan Acheampong is conflicted by virtue of his status as a Cabinet Minister.

He goes on further to say that as a Cabinet Minister, Bryan Acheampong can influence decisions on the sales of these hotels since such matters were tabled for discussions at Cabinet.

Let it be emphasized that as at the time SSNIT decided and bids were asked to be submitted, Bryan Acheampong was not even a minister, let alone a Cabinet Minister.

In fact, the bidding process took place in 2022, but Bryan Acheampong became a minister in 2023. What this means is that, he didn’t have the benefit of being in a position to influence the transaction in his favour if he so desired if Cabinet even talked about it.

He was an MP with no ministerial portfolio for Ablakwa or his likes to run riots against him with regards to this conflict of interest angle the lying NDC MP has introduced into the equation.

It is all about envy. Ablakwa is so envious of Bryan Acheampong that he cannot even hide it no matter how hard he tries. He is on a wild goose chase!
